We have an iMac computer. The mouse cursor is “frozen” in one spot and the cursor does not move. We charged the mouse. After entering our password, I can’t advance beyond the first screen. Any ideas on what might be the problem? Could it be the mouse will no longer charge?

Enable and use Mouse Keys, pending resolving the problem with the Apple Mouse, or its replacement.

You can enable Mouse Keys using ⌥ ⌘ F5

With that and a charged mouse, I'd use Mouse Keys to try a reboot as a first step.
