Remove iCloud from accounts in Mail

I want to use the Mail app on my phone only for emails from my personal email address. However the app also has my iCloud email on it. I tried to follow these steps:

"Open up Settings, then at the top, tap on your name where it says “Apple ID, iCloud, iTunes & App Store.” Once there, tap on iCloud, then switch mail off"

but the iCloud button is greyed out. How can I disable or remove iCloud from being an available account in Mail?

Hey freida128,

If the option to turn iCloud Mail off is greyed out, it may be due to a restriction on your iPhone.

Is this an iPhone that was provided to you by an employer or school? If so, they may have installed profiles that tweak some aspects of the phone. Preventing some functions is a usual outcome of this.

You can check if you have profiles installed on your device under Settings  > General > VPN & Device Management. If there are no profiles installed, you won't see the VPN & Device Management option.

If you see one and it's from an employer or other governing entity, we'd recommend contacting them before trying to remove it.

Let us know if that helps.

Cheers!
