It’s been a while since anyone has posted about this but I stumbled across this thread today as I’m having these issues. Everything else works fine but Apple TV will buffer to no end. I can’t watch anything on it without getting annoyed and turning it off. Why is this still a problem?!

Buffering, for my AppleTV 4K, began after AppleTV+ appeared on my HomeScreen in June 2023.
I discovered I could Select AppleTV+ Menu actions once I 'subscribed' to AppleTV+. But, Buffering DID NOT occur while using AppleTV+.
Only the 4 apps I'd used for several years were buffering: Paramount+,
PBS, Prime Video and the YouTube
free app ALL Buffered!

AppleTV+ is NOT a app, but is part
of the 'AppleTV 4K OPERATING SYSTEM'.
I've Turned Off every AppleTV 4K SETTING I didn't need, then OffLoaded in (Settings, General, USAGE, Manage Storage) the
3-apps I was not using. Buffering still occurred, but not as often AND for
Shorter time.

It's been just over one week now.
I've received no response. So, I followed advice from 'discussions'
here to increase my BandWidth.
My increase from 50Mbps to 60Mbps 'has' reduced Buffering.
Now Buffering interruptions are
infrequent and very short.
It seems my modern equipment:
SONY 4K TV, Up to Date Ethernet
and HDMI Cables which I Tested with my Klein Cable/Port Tester, AND 60Mbps Signal aren't good enough for AppleTV 4K Streaming.
It might be time to find better service
and equipment elsewhere.
Apple TV Buffering- Same issue as everyone else. App buffers constantly. I have tried plugging and unplugging , deleting the app and redownlading it, calling Apple. The women I spoke to said to call Samsung Tv since it buffeted so much we couldn’t sign into
it.I have had the Apple for well over a year and only had this problem for the last couple of months. Everything else works perfectly. I use Roku for streaming. No problems with that. I have the Apple App on my bedroom TV and that works fine too. Any suggestions on what to do or who I can call would be appreciated.
My TV is wired into my router and my speed test is 278 mbps which is more than fast enough. Apple TV keeps jumping and skipping. We even turned off our WiFi from other devices. This is an issue with Apple. Our TV is also new and we run on demand UHD services with no issues. Any ideas?
My Apple TV streaming constantly buffers. It started a couple of weeks ago. All other streaming services are working fine. I’ve done everything as posted on the forums and the problem does not go away.
I am having the same problem. Apple+ TV streaming over Roku didn't start excessive buffering until the day after I installed a mesh network. The principal node, next to our modem, is maybe 12' (or less) distant from our TV and Roku player. My provider promises download speed of 300 Mbs; speedtest after installing the network is easily 360Mbs.

I have multiple streaming services -- Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney, Prime, etc etc. NONE of them have a buffering problem. Apple TV, however, is a nightmare. For example, Just was trying to watch "Trying", 30 minutes episode....and 15 minutes of buffering. I used the stopwatch on my iPhone to time it. Apple is terribly smug about its technology, but their technology for their streaming service is a piece of junk.
Exact same issue. I’ve tried restarting modem router tv, keeps happening.

No I do not use a mesh
Mine does this despite having very fast internet (80mbps upload and download). All other services in my home work seamlessly.

All my Internet devices are working perfectly fine YouTube Netflix, but I am trying to watch AppleTV on Samsung device. TV keeps on buffering. Sorry I’m going to cancel my subscription disappointed
Apple please fix it. We can’t be complaining of the same issues months on end.
Glad you got it figured out! Yes, we have more and more things connected to our bandwidth these days.
