It’s been a while since anyone has posted about this but I stumbled across this thread today as I’m having these issues. Everything else works fine but Apple TV will buffer to no end. I can’t watch anything on it without getting annoyed and turning it off. Why is this still a problem?!

Laszlo - I’ve been having the exact same issue and it only started a few weeks ago as well. Never had a single buffering issue before and all of my other devices work just fine currently, except the Apple TV. Our Apple TV 4K device is only a year old. Checked for software update, rebooted router, etc but nothing helps. @Apple please help! This is ridiculous.
I know this seems daft but it solved this problem for me: make sure that your Apple TV 4K is the right way up!!! Mine was upside down for some reason (Apple logo underneath)... I had LOADS of trouble/resets until I turned the thing over... now it's perfect!
I have multiple streaming services -- Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney, Prime, etc etc. NONE of them have a buffering problem. Apple TV, however, is a nightmare. For example, Just was trying to watch "Trying", 30 minutes episode....and 15 minutes of buffering. I used the stopwatch on my iPhone to time it. Apple is terribly smug about its technology, but their technology for their streaming service is a piece of junk.
I've read elsewhere that Apple TV, unlike other streaming services, does not adjust its bandwidth requirements to accommodate the viewer's equipment. Maybe that's true, I'm not enough of a techno-geek to know. But I do know that running speed tests in various areas of my house on my phone, my router was doing a poor job of it. I installed a mesh network with three nodes (again, using the speed test app for placement), and voila! Problem gone. FWIW.
Having the exact same issue, but no issue with any other streaming service at all. So frustrating!!

I found that as soon as I stopped using the Apple TV+ app and just watched via a web browser on my phone, it worked perfectly. Could be wrong but I think it's the app

Your problem is inadequate bandwidth. Do you use a Mesh network?
No I do not use a mesh
Mine does this despite having very fast internet (80mbps upload and download). All other services in my home work seamlessly.

Same! The app on my Vizio Smart TV buffers every few seconds, then works for a short, and then starts over again. I can go to Apple TV+ on the web and choose the same show with zero buffering.
All my Internet devices are working perfectly fine YouTube Netflix, but I am trying to watch AppleTV on Samsung device. TV keeps on buffering. Sorry I’m going to cancel my subscription disappointed
Apple please fix it. We can’t be complaining of the same issues months on end.
