Radio app on Apple watch

Until recently when I started iHeart radio on my phone my apple watch would automatically load the radio app on the watch. All firmware on the phone and the watch are up to date. The only change is I did get a new blue tooth headset a Dr. Dre Beats.

Is the reason the watch doesn't load the radio app because of the head set?

Thanks

Hey greg0086,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

There's a setting called Auto-Launch Audio Apps, and it should be enabled. The setting on the Apple Watch is located in Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Launch Audio Apps >If it is off, turn it back on.

Hope this helps. Take care.

Hey there greg0086,

While you may need to contact Apple Support about this, we'd like to continue ruling out some other possible causes, along with learning more about what's happening:

  1. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart your Apple Watch
  2. You mentioned that both devices are up to date, but we wanted to confirm if iOS 16.4.1 and watchOS 9.4 are installed? You can check under each device within Settings > General > About.
  3. You also mentioned using a new pair of Beats, but does the issue remain if it's disconnected from both your iPhone and watch?
  4. We also recommend making sure all apps are up to date on both devices: How to manually update apps on your Apple device
  5. Are other apps having the same issue, or is it only with the iHeart Radio app?

Cheers!
