I received an email from “Apple”, is this legit?

Probably false.

Apple wouldn't warn you of a download to a device, it would have warned you first of having logged in to an unknown device, or if you have 2 factor authentication turned on, you would have received the 2 factor authentication codes for the log in attempt on one of your other devices.

Also, Apple would address you by your full name, you have provided for your Apple ID, not just part of it

While the links offered are real Apple links to actual Apple documents, there was something else removed by the moderators.

I'm not entirely sure that is real.

You can verify what devices your Apple ID is being used on by following the steps in the support document linked below.

If you don't see anything out of the ordinary there, then there should be no real threat.
