"Duplicate text messages' What is the solution to STOP duplicate text messages being sent to one's self when using the iMessage App on iPhone and MacBook Pro?

1. Why has Apple removed the option to delete multiple text messages at one time within the same conversation on Apple laptops?

2. Why has Apple decided not to address the issue known as, "Why am I getting a duplicate messages when I text myself?"

On Apple.com/support - Apple forum shows 'many many' Apple customers asking for a solution to the duplicate text issue.

Example: I text myself using either a MacBook laptop or Iphone, and my original text shows up in the massage app in iMessage blue but then I receive the exact same message in a gray bubble. This is a time waster not to mention, takes up extra data storage. Are there any solutions to these issues?

PS. Today is 04/04/23. I called Apple Tech Support to discuss these issues. My Apple Rep was a tech support Senior Advisor. We screen shared on my Iphone + my MacBook. However, this tech told me she asked her Apple tech trainer the same questions. My SA said she was informed this is just something Apple has decided to do across the board, no matter what iPhone or Apple laptop the customer is using; goes for all running systems.

Who else finds this odd? Does Apple invest in and understand that Public Relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their customers? Apple may spend $$$ on branding their image but in the end, dissatisfied customers pay Apple's bills.

You'll always get a "duplicate" text as you are the sender and the receiver. That's expected behavior. Just like emailing yourself where you have a sent item and an item in your inbox.

As for selecting multiple texts within a conversation. You can do that. Simply click on the first and either command-click (to select individual messages), or shift-click (to select a range). Then, use the delete key on your keyboard.
