iMessage/message attachments disappearing on iMac

From a 2/14/23 post: "On my 2022 MacBook Pro, Ventura 13.2, in messages (what used to be known as iMessages) if I text or someone texts me an attachment, it shows up at first and then goes away after 12 hours or so, or if I close out of the message app. The attachment then shows up as a white paper with the corner folded over and i can't open them on the computer.

They are still on my iPhone and I can open them there too. Also I have an older MacBook and they show up on that too with no problem."

Does anyone have a response for this issue? I'm working with a relative who has this exact issue and I'm not seeing any response to resolve this. Note this occurred when the person involved traveled to Europe and turned off cellular data on the phone and the messages app as well. Since returning she has experienced the above problem.

Hi cgarch,

We want to help with your Mac.

Do you have iCloud Messages enabled for your Mac?

Make sure it's on both:

Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices

If it's on already, toggle it off and on for your Mac having a problem to test.
