Upgrade Notes

"To create notes directly, upgrade your notes."

I have to deal with this pop up every time I open notes. I don't want to synch it to my iCloud. I don't want to have to back out from a new note being created every time I open the app. I like my notes being synched to the one account it currently is (my Gmail).

How do I disable this popup without synching notes to my iCloud? Because if I do that it takes 4 taps/swipes to get to where I want to be instead of the 1 to just close this incessant popup.
