Child changing time zone to avoid downtime on Family Sharing

Not sure why it worked for you, however like most of us mentioned here, we already tried this (I just tried again on the child's device just in case). Once done, I went to the setting on the child's device and can still enable/disable automatic zone and also change a time zone to any zone I choose with no problem.

You suggestion no longer works, as others have noted. What is the current solution to ensure these creative kids can't find a chink in iPhone's so called armor?

Did you do last step as well: Then go back to Location Services and set this to "Don't Allow Changes." ?

This no longer works. Used to. Not anymore. Apple needs to make this work again.

This option no longer appears available. Huge loophole in screen time

I have updated both phones to the latest software. I have restarted both devices. I tried using both phones (parental and child's). I tried toggling the "setting time zone" and untoggling. NOTHING WORKS!

I have also tried this on my own phone to set this restrictioin for myself using the screen time. This feature simply doesn't work!

Unfortunately, this is exactly what I have done in the child’s device and it simply doesn’t work for us. Even with these settings, the child is still able to change the date. It works on other devices, but for some reason that I cannot duplicate, it will not work on one child iPad.

Toggling screen time password on the parental iphone 12 did not work for me. I can still go to date/time on the child's iphone 12 and disable automatic timezone and then choose any time zone I want instead. The privacy is currently set to Time zone disabled (toggled off and no change allowed). Is it what your child has or is your child's in On position?

This is by far the most accurate steps I found online so far.

However, in my case the time zone change restriction only works until I activate the screen time from the parent device. As soon as it is activated again, it stops working and the time zone can again be changed on the child device …

Any chance anyone faced that (and fixed it) already ?

A clarification though : at the beginning of the procedure, am I assuming all parental controls are off ?

Also, when you write "Turn parental controls for the kid off and on", what controls exactly are you referring to : should I "Turn off App & Website Activity" ?

Thank you very much it worked but what a faff to get there! I finally got it working after MANY failed attempts. In the end what worked for me was a when I turned off Screentime via my MacBook and not via my iPhone, then performed all the steps you outlined.

Go back to Settings>General>Date & Time and you’ll see that this has been greyed out too.

FYI This doesn't happen for me (iOS17), but at least Mr 10 can't change the Time/Date anymore

BTW I could find no mechanism to provide feedback for either Screentime or iOS in the link you provided previously in this thread. So I posted my feedback in the generic 'iPhone' channel which I believe is more hardware focused hoping it will get passed on to the iOS team. Do you know of a better place to do this instead?
