Iphone text translation is broken, how to fix the "original" translate from not detecting as English

I have an iphone 13, up to date OS. my iphone's default language is English, second language is Chinese.

I've downloaded two language packs, English and Chinese.

However, when I translate text, it detects simple English words as other languages that I have no idea about, for example, Indonesian, French,Slovak, etc. It still detect as non-english after I changed it to English. I'm so fed up with the translation.

I even tried different On-Device Mode, doesn't matter if it's on or off, it still detect simple English words as other languages that I have zero idea about.

This problem also happens on my ipad, it's so frustrating I have to manually change every single time.

Any solutions to this headache? thank you.

1. Tap the arrows the Search Down button next to the two languages to choose the languages you want to translate between.

2. Tap one of the languages to start typing, or use the microphone to speak.

3. the Input Language icon appears next to the language you’re translating from.

To switch the input language, tap the other language.

* Translate text: Tap “Enter text,” type a phrase (or paste text), then tap Go.

* Translate your voice: Tap the Listen button, then say a phrase.

4. Note: the Input Language button shows which language you’re translating from. Tap on the other language to switch the input language.

5. When the translation is shown, do any of the following:

* Tip: Touch and hold the Play button to adjust the playback speed.
