My Studio Display doesn't work. There are three flashing dots for about 3 seconds and then it goes dark. I have tried restarting and disconnecting, etc. but no dice.

Assuming you’ve tried another power outlet and this happens when it’s connected to a powered-on Mac with supplied cable, I would schedule in-store repair.
