private relay does not hide my ip on MacOS

I am afraid private relay does not hide my ip on macOS although in the settings its turned on. On my Iphone it's working. I have deactivated all extensions, deactivated and reactivated private relay in settings, reactivated it in the settings of my wifi connection, restarted my Mac, restarted in safe mode, tested with another user account. still my real public ip shows up on all ip-checker-websites. What else can I try?

MacBook Air, macOS 13.3

If a website doesn't work with Private Relay

If a website relies on IP filtering, monitoring, or rate-limiting, it might require your IP address to be visible. You can turn off Private Relay temporarily for that website only.

To temporarily allow a website to see your IP address:*

  • iPhone or iPad: Tap the Page Settings button , then tap Show IP Address.
  • Mac: In Safari, choose View > Reload and Show IP Address.

* If you don't see the option to temporarily allow a website to see your IP address, update your device to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS, and try again.

Hope This helps
