How do I stop mcAfee fake renewal notification from popping up?

Simple. Go to Safari's Preferences... menu > Websites > Notifications, and remove everything there.

I still don't understand why anyone would want to invite that kind harassment.

How did I "invite" it? I definitely didn't do it on purpose. I don't know how I did it. I use Safari for eBay and banking and some online shopping to trusted sites I've visited before, nothing else. Firefox is my go-to browser.
