Plugable UD-3900Z docking station not connecting LG monitor & MacBook M2 Air

I recently bought my first MacBook laptop, M2 Air, and the Plugable UD-3900Z docking station seemed like it would work. The dock works for USB connections, but neither HDMI port works with my LG monitor. Is there a setting that I should check or some compatibility issue that I missed?

I just reconnected the HDMI cable again and this time it worked... with one major issue remaining. I cannot control the night setting which I use continuously all day. Every time I set the temperature to warmest possible, all the way to the right, it goes back all the way to the left. I cannot work with that setting due to sensitivity to the brightness.

The other thing I found is an error message in the DisplayLink app, even after the monitor was working, that says:

"Please allow your DisplayLink device to connect to this Mac".

"After connecting accessory to this Mac via USB, a system prompt will appear. Please click "Allow" to ensure the device is working properly."

I have not seen a system prompt.
