Airpods not connecting

my case is flashing green, both airpods and case have been cleaned... the case shows a steady green light when the left air pod is the only one in the case, but when the right airpod is placed in the case, it starts flashing green... previously, the right airpod would not connect to my phone so everything i saw said to “forget the device” on my phone and do a factory reset. Now neither airpod will connect to my phone. What do I need to do? Ive tried resetting, restarting my phone, cleaning, turning off Bluetooth off and back on, charging, resetting network settings on my phone, and nothing has worked. When I try to reconnect my airpods to my phone by holding the button with the case open next to my phone (with Bluetooth on), the light turns white, but never turns amber and the airpods never show up on Bluetooth devices

Hi Miangley1814,

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Wondering which device you are trying to connect to,

and

if your device needs updating to the newest compatible operating system.

The AirPods firmware may need updating, and I understand that happens automatically when you are using the newest OS on your device.

If you want, you might try making sure bluetooth is turned off on your device. Then take both airPods out of the case, and reinsert them back in the case. Shut the case lid. After a moment re-open the case and see if the light returns to solid green.

Re: "the airpods never show up on Bluetooth devices"

The AirPods would need to be flashing white in order to be "discoverable", before that can be paired:

Re: "light: never turns amber"

The light would generally turn amber to indicate AirPods are being charged.
