Is iMovie 11 as an update
available on iMacbook pro?
Hi,
Are you referring to iMovie '11 (with an apostrophe? That version actually is iMovie 9 that has been continued and cannot be updated.
If you never had iMovie 10 on your Mac, you may not be able to get it without resorting to third party websites. There can be a danger of malware when downloading from sites that are not authorized by Apple.
However, if you bought your Mac new, iMovie 10 would have been included in the software package. Even if it got deleted or somehow lost, you might be able to update to the most current version that your present operating system can run. If you bought a used machine, with iMovie removed, the update option would not be available.
In any event, try this procedure and see if you can get an update:
To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before, but deleted it.) Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. (NOTE: For El Capitan and older, click on the Purchases tab at the top of the app store screen and then sign in. Click on Purchases again to reveal your purchases.) You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash (if you moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.
