adjust desktop icon size

Go >> Finder >> View >> Show View Options and adjust the Size of icons on Desktop

In my case Icon Size 72 x 72

Apple Menu > Finder > View and choose "Show View Options".

and adjust "Icon Size".

You can set different icon [1] & font size [3] and grid spacing [3] for your desktop (see below):

to be fair, there were at least 2 others with about the same suggestion

I know now. I can't see the screenshots with the white background due to vision problems.
