Refund for fraud
I recently discovered that the app “Picolo -party game app” has been charging me $4.50 a week since January 2021. I don’t even think I used the app, I deleted it right after downloading it and then forgot about it. I didn’t sign up for a subscription. I wasn’t even aware there was a subscription for this game. After finding it hidden in my iPhone subscriptions I quickly cancelled it and worried there was nothing else I could do. I had some time today and decided to contact Apple to see if there was any type of refund they could give me due to this app scamming me. After looking through App Store reviews, there are DOZENS of people reporting the same issue. “This app steals your money” “the app secretly charges you”. There are people reporting years of being charged without their knowledge, just like me. I realized this is a bigger problem. Got on the phone with Apple and each representative told me I couldn’t be refunded because I didn’t call right after canceling the subscription. None of them seemed concerned that this is fraud we’re talking about.
There is little to no information about the app developer, and I don’t trust them with my information anyways. I would like to know if there is some way Apple can process a refund for me (and everyone else scammed by this app on your platform) regardless of the time limit of refunds. I understand having a time limit on something you made a mistake signing up for, but this is a fraudulent app and there should be a different policy in this instance. I’ve paid almost $500 to this app without my knowledge and Apple refuses to address the issue because I didn’t know I should have called earlier? So you’re telling me I could have been refunded for fraud but now that it’s passed 30 days I can’t be? ITS FRAUD. It shouldn’t matter how long ago it happened. I was wronged by an app on the App Store, as was many others. There has to be someone I can contact to at least get this app removed. Any help?
