How do I require an admin password be entered before a user can change a setting inside an app?

We have Dropbox installed on our office computers. Inside the Dropbox app we selectively sync certain folders to be shared with each device on which the Dropbox app is installed.

I need the Dropbox app to run on these devices, but I need to keep users of these devices from changing any settings within the Dropbox app. Otherwise, users could simply change file syncing options within Dropbox and see folders from our Dropbox account that I don't want them to see.

How do I disallow users to change settings within apps in macOS?

NOTE: I have already talked to Dropbox about this, and they do not have a solution. Dropbox only allows file restrictions by logged in user, not by device. I can see that what I have been asking for has been requested by users for over 8 years and Dropbox hasn't added it yet and I don't imagine they will. In short, there is no solution from Dropbox which would allow restrictions on file syncing by device.

There are other cloud solutions.

DropBox is third party. You probably will want to compare how Google Cloud or Microsoft OneDrive, or Apple iCloud compare. Some of the settings restrictions you want could be created by enabling parental controls on the Macs.

If you have a large enough group, you might want to see if a Mobile Device Management app gives the controls you like, like Jamf.
