WiFi Issues with iOS16.4.1 ?

Anyone experiences (like me) WiFi issues with iOS 16.4.1 which was supposed to fix the WiFi problems... dog running after it's tail... Any fix yet ?

An Apple customer service rep. helped me through this.

Try force restarting your iPhone.

You can force restart using the following sequence of actions:

  1. Pressing and releasing the Volume Up button quickly
  2. Pressing and releasing the Volume Down button quickly
  3. Pressing and holding the Side button until the Apple Logo pops up

This has different results from a regular restart (via settings or pressing and holding the Side button and a volume button until you are prompted to swipe for a shut down).

molly ~ An iPhone 11 Pro battery is unlikely to have a Maximum Capacity of 100% – unless it's been recently replaced. So, again, does your iPhone 11 Pro still have its original battery?

And to be clearer, this icon is the Settings app:

...Tap it to open Settings app. Then scroll down to Battery and tap it. Then tap Battery Health & Charging and tell us what the Maximum Capacity % is. If its value is only "––", let us know that.

Sorry, when I re-read my post it sounded rather harsh, that wasn't the intention, was just considering what connected all the issues together.

Am sure a message on the screen requests that users connect to the power supply when they update their phone, but like you say, a few may ignore the message not appreciating the grief that may occur if it shuts down halfway through the update process.

I have an original SE which I still use in the house on wifi, and due to its age I can't update the iOS, plus its battery life is pretty abysmal and needs to be changed, nevertheless it also forgot the wifi password at the same time as all the other more modern kit, and did suffer from losing quite a few photos due being unable to connect to the iCloud for a few days last week, but it now seems to have fixed itself, or should I say, whatever was causing the issue has been fixed, makes me wonder whether it is more of a global problem than an iOS problem.

Like you say, it's good to be thorough.

discussions on the thread should only focus on the subject which is WiFi issues with iOS16.4.1 to not confuse other users.

you can start a discussion and post your issues regarding iOS 16.3.1 so other users with the same iOS version can effectively help out to resolve your issue.

so far on this thread even if apple already did a emergency update as 16.4.1(a) it didn't help as others still encounter the same issue connecting to the WiFi

With 16.4.1 connecting to any public Wi-Fi is impossible.

This posting is all about the discussion group and nothing has been done.

Can some supervisor get on top of this please and go ahead and get this fixed. Anybody please add your postings if you’re having problems with us right now which is a serious problem.

This is the link of the existing post things that people have been talking about for quite a while now, and nobody’s been doing anything about it:

IOS16 public Wifi problem | Apple Developer Forums

let’s go ahead and get this integrated for the next update please this is really an unusual thing. The password box should be enabled first off so you can add a password to your own little hotspot within the Wi-Fi unsecured network to get around this and it’s totally gone.

This is ridiculous so if a supervisor can’t do this, Apple, go ahead and have the next level upwards of supervisors. Go ahead and take a serious look at this, because the android people are starting to come up and numbers which means less phones manufactured in China for fusion unless Apple buyers so why have that when you can keep a market share.

Have a nice day.
