AppleWatch no longer unlocks MacBook Pro

Everything is updated to the latest OS. After numerous restarts of both the MacBook Pro and the AppleWatch, there was some movement - but it all led to the ridiculous “Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud account”.

It is signed into the account. It also has about 12 credit cards and debit cards attached to it before anyone suggests it’s as easy as signing in and out of iCloud. Some banks actually require calls and that is time-consuming.

If anyone found a workaround that doesn’t involve signing out of something that is required to be signed into in order to work, I would really appreciate it.

Hey,

Thanks, but that was where the problem was. Anytime I tried to slide it over all it would say is "Apple Watch must be connected to same iCloud account".

This function has worked for me about 80% of the time since Watch 3 or 4. There were times when upgrades have messed it up, but I have never had it tell me to log into iCloud a device that is already connected to the iCloud.
