Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac is supported on the following versions of macOS:

  • macOS Sierra (version 10.12)
  • macOS High Sierra (version 10.13)
  • macOS Mojave (version 10.14)
  • macOS Catalina (version 10.15)

However, please note that Microsoft Office 2016 is no longer supported by Microsoft, which means that the company no longer provides technical support or security updates for this version. It is recommended to upgrade to a newer version of Office to receive the latest features and security updates.

Hi, apparently the very last OFFICE 2016 MAC version is compatible with Ventura.

It's build 16.16.27, final Office 2016 version, oct 2020.

I found the information here  https://answers.microsoft.com/fr-fr/outlook_com/forum/all/outlook-1613-2016-avec-macos-ventura/d1622837-8791-415c-969b-6d275c5d6806

Can sombedoy from Apple confirm ? That would be very helpful, thanks

First, check that your printer/scanner has vendor drivers for Ventura, or the networked printer is supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint, or that the scanner is supported without vendor drivers by VueScan Professional.

Once you are satisfied with the first paragraph, then perform migration assistant between the old and new Macs. This can be from the last Catalina Time Machine backup, or directly between the two Macs via the network.

Once the second paragraph is done, I recommend setting aside any Catalina Time Machine backup and use a new APFS formatted Time Machine drive for your first backup of Ventura. Then apply any available Ventura updates and let Time Machine back that up.

At this point, you install Office 2021 for Mac, as it is tied to the hardware UUID of the Mac running Ventura. Mine is set to autoupdate. That means you won't see the individual applications being updated, but they are. Apple's Gatekeeper security will take 1 - 2 seconds to scan these for malware when you launch them after each application update.

Note that a MS Office Suite single-device install goes by device. So, none the less, if not MS Office 365, you'll have to go for a new license.
