how to stop file transfer/copy/move proces between macMini and iCloud

Hi there,

My mac is a macMini (late 2014)

macOS is Monterey 12.6.4 (there's an update 12.6.6, but that won't bear on the present topic)

# I have started copying 184 Gb files from ../users/myaccount/downloads to desktop which is in icloud/desktop

## I do not want that

# I try to stop the process by clicking the "x" in the tiny window, "Transferring 118.343 files", "21.7 MB of 184.25 GB"

## This does not stop the proces

# Q How do I stop this file copy proces between my macMini and iCloud, as described?
