How do you know for sure you need a new Airport/Wifi card in Imac?

network card priority on iMac I have connected a 2.5Gig USB C network adapter to my 2020 iMac, this works fine. My issue is if I connect the WiFi then the WiFi becomes the prefered network card. Obviously this is much slower than the wired connection. I want to use the WiFi for watch unlock and copy paste from other Apple devices but the connection to the SAN and internet I want to go over wired. There is no way to reorder the devices in control panel. The iMac is on the latest version of everything too. Any help gladly received

Can I hook up an Apple Imac G3 to Airport Extreme via ethernet? Have an Imac M1 hooked up to my Airport Extreme via ethernet, can I also hook up my "new" Imac G3 grape to this same Airport Extreme via ethernet? I see restrictions on wifi, but does this also apply to ethernet connections? Do I need another router or switch in between the two?

A few really good indicators are:

It fails the Apple Hardware Test / Apple Diagnostics
It does not show up in About this Mac > System Information > Network > Wi-Fi
Bluetooth is not working or the does not show up in System Information > Hardware > Bluetooth
Your Mac does not recognize the existence of any local Wi-Fi networks
Etc.
