Update apps I am forced to enter my password every single update WHY?

Why do I have to enter my passcode for EVERY SINGLE update even though I have it set to every 15 minutes ??? It’s VERY annoying and takes too long & sometimes doesn’t complete. BTW touch/face ID is off.

App Store updates - no password required? I updated my iPad to IOS 16.4 yesterday. Today, my App Store updates do not request a password. In the previous version, I always needed a password. My settings are set to always need a password. When downloading an app, the password is requested as normal. Any clues anyone? Is this a bug? Thanks

Can’t change require passcode for free downloads. A slider to change requiring passcode is greyed over. This makes it to where when I need to download an app I need my Apple ID code. In addition I can’t update the apps I already have installed without my ID code as well, I am not aware it this is correlated with the first issue.
