Can you update iPhone 6 to iOS 14 or newer?

That's not technically possible, sorry.

Hey there. If the phone is an iPhone 6 (and not an iPhone 6S) then it's not supported on iOS 14. The iPhone 6 supports up to iOS 12.

25 pages of responses, ALL telling you this is NOT possible. If you want a higher level iOS version, then you HAVE to buy a newer iPhone.

There is nothing to be confused about. You have a nearly 10 year old iPhone, which cannot be updated past iOS 12. You won't be able to use any apps which require a higher iOS version until you retire your outdated iPhone and buy a newer iPhone which is capable of running iOS 15 or higher.

NO. It is NOT possible. There are 28 pages of people asking if iPhone 6 can be updated higher than iOS 12 and the answer is and ALWAYS will be NO.

Answer #1: You don't. See the rest of the thread to which you just replied. Repeating the question won't change the answer.

Answer #2: To run a newer version of iOS, buy a newer iPhone and set it up. Then prepare your outdated iPhone 6 to be given away and send the outdated iPhone 6 to Apple for free recycling. (I don't believe Apple will give you any trade-in credit for it – but you could ask them, and see what they said.).

Well, since you really really really really REALLY want it!

An iPhone 6 can't be updated beyond 12.5.7, it doesn't have the hardware required to run anything higher.

If you need a higher iOS version, you will have to purchase a newer phone.
