Can you update iPhone 6 to iOS 14 or newer?

It is truly amazing how many people ask the same question that has been answered dozens of times in the thread they posted to. It’s almost like they don’t bother to read before posting. Or they think that asking the same question again will somehow yield a different answer.

That is a true statement. And the ONLY, repeat, ONLY way to update higher than 12.5.7 is to get a newer model phone to replace your 9 year old phone. You need a 6S or newer. To run the very latest version (17) you need an iPhone XR, XS, SE 2nd or 3rd edition, iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15

What do you mean by "6x"?

If you are asking about an iPhone 6s Plus – a more recent iPhone than the one this thread is about, it can run the latest version of iOS 15, but nothing later.

If you are asking about an iPhone 6 Plus (no "s"), then just as with the iPhone 6, iOS 12 is the end of the line.

Refer to the past 11 pages of this thread, and you will find that an iPhone 6 can only go as far as the latest release of iOS 12 (currently iOS 12.5.7). You cannot update an iPhone 6 to iOS 13, 14, 15, 16, or 17. They will never come to the outdated iPhone 6 – a phone first introduced over nine years ago.

You can keep asking, but the answer id NEVER going to change. If you need a higher level iOS version, your ONLY option is to buy a newer, more modern iPhone. Asking over and over and over won't change anything.

Hello~ Please read this entire 17 page thread as I have. Your request has been answered correctly many, many times. You need a newer iPhone as your device cannot be updated any further. If there is any part of that you don’t understand then let us know so we can attempt to help you see this can’t be done.
