Enabling SecureBoot on Macbook Air OS X Maverick

Good day, could you tell me if it is possible to enable SecureBoot on the MacBook AiR or somehow get into the Startup Security Utility. When I go into recovery mode via cmd+R, I can only set a password for the firmware in the utilities, and I can’t find the Startup Security Utility, if it exists at all. Could you tell me if there is such a possibility? Thank you in advance!

Hello Mikaeller,

We see you are asking how to setup Secure Boot on your MacBook Air. First, you will need to confirm that your MacBook Air is a model that supports Secure Boot. It will need to be either have the Apple T2 Security Chip: Mac models with the Apple T2 Security Chip - Apple Support

Or be a Mac with Apple silicon: Mac computers with Apple silicon - Apple Support

If it is a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip, start with the steps in this guide: About Startup Security Utility on a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip - Apple Support

Open Startup Security Utility
1. Turn on your Mac, then press and hold Command (⌘)-R immediately after you see the Apple logo. Your Mac starts up from macOS Recovery.
2. When you're asked to select a user you know the password for, select the user, click Next, then enter their administrator password.
3. When you see the macOS utilities window, choose Utilities > Startup Security Utility from the menu bar.
4. When you're asked to authenticate, click Enter macOS Password, then choose an administrator account and enter its password.
