Why is textedit automatically open if no documents are open on my MacBook??? It has become so annoying, I would really just like to remove the app from my MacBook completely.

Why is textedit automatically open if no documents are open on my MacBook??? It has become so annoying, I would really just like to remove the app from my MacBook completely.

Perhaps TextEdit has been assigned to start up automatically (Open at Login). Change Login Items settings on Mac describes how to change that setting. Be sure to select your appropriate macOS version from the "Select version:" menu on the top left of that Support Article.
