Apple TV 4K causing tv to crash

I have a 2019 Xiaomi 4k tv which I used with an Amazon fire stick 4k for a few years without any hassle. I recently got a 2022 Apple TV 4K and hooked it up to the tv. It plays from YouTube without any problem but crashes when playing content from Netflix, Apple TV app, etc. I’ve tried lowering the video settings but it doesn’t make a difference.

does anyone have any ideas?

Close those apps and restart your Apple TV and tv to see if this resolves it . Make sure you’ve updated all software as well.
