2-Step Verification

I’ve been trying to sign into my gmail on my laptop. It says that google sent a notification to my iPhone. And to open up the google app and there will be a notification. I see the notification, however when I open up my google app nothing shows up. I just see a blank page spinning like it is processing but nothing happens. There is no prompt. It’s the only option I have to log in. I turned on notifications on in settings and tried logging in with a different iPhone and android. Still nothing. No prompts.
