Unable to run UE5 in Monterey (v12.6.4)

Hi folks,

My Win 10 machine is down, and I want to be able to run Unreal Engine on my Mac for the time being (a 2020 MacBook Pro, with 16GB of RAM, a 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 and Intel Iris Plus Graphics, 1536 MB). Unfortunately, I keep getting this error message:

Can't find Xcode install for Metal compiler. Please install Xcode and run Xcode.app to accept license or ensure active developer directory is set to current Xcode installation using xcode-select.

I've looked for an Xcode installation, and I apparently have something (I have all sorts of Xcode-related files, though I cannot find the Xcode.app this message is referring to).

Any ideas about what's going on or what I should do? I've already left a message in the Epic forums (over a week ago), but no one's responded.

Thanks!

Install Xcode 14.3 from the Mac App Store.

There are other ways to get Xcode, but you’re probably not (yet?) enrolled in the Apple Developer program.
