Migration assistant frozen at information transfer
Setting up a brand new M2 iMac. Using a Time Machine external drive to transfer data from my old system running 10.12.6.
the transfer appears to have frozen after working overnight.
screen says “Updating system settings…”

about 20 minutes remaining at 54.8 MB/s”
the progress bar hasn’t budged in an hour since I got out of bed to check on its progress.
I was hoping to wake up to a shiny new Mac…
I’m afraid to proceed.
do I cancel the transfer?
