my trackpad is not clicking and can't click and drag icons. Need help

I have been trying to figure out how to fix my trackpad on the MacBook Air with M1 chip. It's not clicking and it doesn't allow me to click or drag. I think every thing else works, but it's just that part that isn't working. I use a secondary mouse to help me in the meantime. but would like to use the one on the laptop. Also it does work when I tap icons, but the clicking to drag. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone help me. Thanks in advance.
