My iPod is not working it’s showing a iPod with a dead face and a link to Apple iPod support website that doesn’t work anymore

The hard drive has probably failed. See If you see a red X icon on your iPod classic or iPod nano (5th generation or earlier) - Apple Support (archived copy). You might want to consider an SD conversion kit to replace the failed drive.
