Is it possible to restore an old iPod and turn it on?

Hello


We have an iPod 8GB model a1199, with no way to charge it and a dented edge of the screen. is it possible to restore an old ipod and turn it on? What resources are recommended

This would be the iPod Nano (2nd generation) from 2006.


If the battery is still functioning you should be able to charge it up and away you go, but you will need the correct cable to to it: Apple 30-pin to USB Cable - Apple


If by restore you mean set it up as a new device follow Apple's description in Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support


I have a 5th generation Nano and it connects to Finder in my M3 iMac with Sonoma. Your earlier Nano may or may not connect to a late-model Mac.
