Log-in to apps fails due to cookie settings?

I have an iPhone SE (1st generation) with iOS 15.7.3 installed (it doesn't update to higher versions anymore apparently). I have several apps on which I want to log on. If I try to do that, a browser panel opens where I should normally fill in my login details, but the browsers always say there is an issue. I think it has something to do with cookies enabled/disabled. I have tried every possibility regarding cookies in the Safari settings: both enable and disable cookies, cross-site tracking, ... and I have also deleted VPN settings. Nothing seems to work. I have resetted my iPhone to factory settings twice, and it doesn't work. Does anyone else have an idea please?

I had the same login issue for several apps (xfinity, Meijer) asking to enable cookies on my IPad 7th generation iOS version 17.1.2 and was able to resolve the login issues by changing the following settings: Navigate to Settings << Safari << scroll down to Settings for Websites << Request Desktop Website << Turn of all options for each app that you’re having issues with. If the app isn’t listed, turn off the Other Websites option. Once I turned these options off, I was able to login to both Xfinity and Meijer apps.

Update: the problem is resolved by deleting the Firefox app.
