"How many Apple IDs do I need?

Just one. Use the same Apple ID everywhere you sign in to ensure that all your Apple services and devices work together seamlessly and you can access your personal content from all your devices."

If you have a need for more than one account you can create more, but for many people this is not recommended and turns into a big management headache.

thanks for the info. I was thinking that if you register each device with a distinct apple ID, you will have 5GB of cloud storage for each device or a total of 10GB. While having one ID for all your devices, you will only get 5GB of cloud storage for all of your devices. Please correct me if my idea is wrong. Thank you.

No, you're not wrong. But, if more storage is the only reason you're considering multiple IDs, you may want to think again. If each devices has a different Apple ID, you can't sync messages across devices. You may be able to share most app and music purchases if you set up Family Sharing, but that's one more thing to manage. If you want to use the same Apple TV and Apple Music (and other Apple subscriptions) on multiple Apple IDs, those subscriptions will cost you more.

Or, you could keep one Apple ID and pay 0.99/ month for 50 gigs of storage.
