In addition to the great advice offered by Jeff_W., I'd check with your cellular provider to see what filters they offer. AT&T, for example is my carrier and they offer spam blocking tools.

Try this method, it has stopped 95% of spam calls that leave messages.

Its as simple as adding this message to your answering machine.

“Hi, if your a telemarketer put us on your do not call list, for all others leave a message at the beep”

Since we added this message, most telemarketers calls stop and hang up right after hearing the “put us on the us on the do not call list”.

Try it, and I bet it’ll do the same for you.
