cannot change country in apple store - invalid payment method

Hello,since

I m using my phone in France and connect to the region France but also need to access Switzerland store to access some local app, however and i m unable to reconnect to the Swiss app store

every time i try to change country and enter my CC as payment method i got an error that payment method is invalid, i 've tried a different card and also tried to use Mobile Bill but got same error same the time.

I ve cancelled my auto renewal contract for one app but expiration is Feb 2024

How can i switch between different country to access app from different stores?

What to do before you change your country or region


1.

You need to ZERO your Apple Account balance, it is depending on the amount:

1.

If your balance is less than the cost of a single item, contact Apple Support directly, they will help you clear your Apple Account balance: Get Support

If you have Apple Account balance you can't use.

You can't redeem or return Apple Gift Cards, App Store & iTunes Gift Cards or unused Apple Account balance for cash, except as required by law. If your jurisdiction allows the refund of redeemed gift balances, you can contact Apple Support to request a refund

When you contact Apple, include the following information:

•           Your Apple ID.

•           The refund amount.

•           Your current delivery address. 


2.

You need to Cancel your subscriptions and wait until the end of the subscription period


3.

Make sure that you have a payment method for your new country or region. See what payment methods you can use.

You need to have a debit / credit card issued by a bank in your new country.

You need to have a billing address in your new country.

fyi: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

Thanks, i thought the following point is the issue, while i have no balance and my subscription has been cancelled but valid until Feb 2024, i have error "invalid payment method"

Since i m using my phone in both country (1 SIM for France and 1 for Switzerland) i want to be able to switch between different app store but since there is an active subscription (Feb 2024) it seems not possible to do it.


This is weird as this is limiting the access to different app store in the country that you are visiting

It seems to me you just have a single problem which is not covered by the support article: Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support it is your payment method is being declined.


Check this resource about what to do if your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store. Click here --> If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support

- Apple is checking with your financial institution if the payment method is valid and receiving a negative response. Make sure the name and address are entered exactly as it appears on your financial institution bills and that the 3 digit CVV is correct. Check with your financial institution about the status of your card.

- Make sure your payment method is up to date or to try a different one ( If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support ).

- Make sure this is one of the payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID ( Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple Support ) A solution may be to use a method from the same country as the store you are using, but Apple no longer states either way if this is a requirement (it used to say, "Make sure that the billing address for your payment method matches the billing address for your Apple ID" but has now downsized this to "You might need to ask your financial institution to allow international purchases on your debit or credit card." in: If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support .

・Unfortunately the list is somewhat general and does not list individual brands of cards (I guess there are too many and are constantly changing).

・Also read any footnotes in the document.

・Finally, note that the document only says which methods _are_ acceptable. Apparently certain types (usually a credit or debit card) _must_ also be present under certain situations such as when a subscription is involved.


If you still have problems, contact official Apple Support. Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

On the separate issue of your ongoing subscription, contact Apple and ask them to cancel it immediately.

sorry it was not the case before since i was able to switch between France vs Swiss app store using the same CC issued in France, something has changed in the process and now i m blocked due to the fact the subscription is running until Feb 2014 for a service that i bought, once again the flexibility is lost to use same phone in different countries
