Macbook M2 Air is freezing a lot

Do you have any anti-virus, Mac "Cleaner", Mac "Optimizer", or Mac "Speeder-Upper" software installed? These are all known to create far more issues than they prevent.

I'd suggest that anyone who's suffering from a sluggish Mac download/install/run a free program called Etrecheck, then post the results back here. This program will not change anything on your Mac, and reveals no private information. It will allow us to examine what might be going on and offer suggestions to resolve the issue.

For trail-&-error purposes, create a new Administrator user, and see if there is any difference. If so, then it is an error with the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire macOS.

same thing is happening with me. I purchased it in June 2023 and it has started to freeze mostly when I want to see some photos . I have a base variant 8/256 and I'm not regretting my decision , maybe I should have gone for pro.
