Macbook M2 Air is freezing a lot

Hi,

I have been using the M2 for around 3 months now. I just do normal work on email, google sheets, and watch Netflix. For no reason, the laptop is freezing in between. Earlier it used to freeze only sometimes. Lately, it has started freezing a lot which makes me feel so bad like I'm using an old HDD Laptop. It feels disheartening, considering the value of the Macbook and how Apple is promoting the quality of the M2 chip as being better than the M1, it is a complete nightmare.

Heating is another issue, but that I can understand because of the fan.

I don't have any heave software, nor do I edit any videos or photos or do design work. I just use the laptop for Normal work, then why is it freezing? Please suggest what can be done about this.

Thanks.

Do you have any anti-virus, Mac "Cleaner", Mac "Optimizer", or Mac "Speeder-Upper" software installed? These are all known to create far more issues than they prevent.

I'd suggest that anyone who's suffering from a sluggish Mac download/install/run a free program called Etrecheck, then post the results back here. This program will not change anything on your Mac, and reveals no private information. It will allow us to examine what might be going on and offer suggestions to resolve the issue.

Here's a link to the app, along with instructions on how to post your report here: How to Use Etrecheck

For trail-&-error purposes, create a new Administrator user, and see if there is any difference. If so, then it is an error with the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire macOS.

Try Force Quit...
