Pdf files on Safari for mac open scrolled down

Since a few weeks Safari for Mac shows pdfs in a more downward view than usual. Let me explain: instead of showing the pdf from the top, it shows it shifted a few centimeters further down, like scrolled down.

For example, if you now open this pdf: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/pdfs/apple-privacy-policy-en-ww.pdf you will see the Apple logo at the top right, but I don't see it. In my case the document is shown a few centimeters further down. In the attached picture you can see it.

Also: this happens ALL the time, with ALL pdf's I open on Safari.

I've tried doing these things already without success:

  • Cleaning cache & history
  • Restoring Mac to factory default

I'd like to know if anyone else is currently experiencing or has experienced something similar in the past and, therefore, how did you solve this.

Thanks in advance,

Victor.

I can confirm the same behavior that you are seeing. In fact even if you select a PDF document on your computer and select "Open With Safari", it will open scrolled down. Double clicking the file opens it normally in Preview scrolled to the top.

The solution is to send Feedback to Apple. It may be an issue with the Adobe/Apple browser plugin that displays the PDF's. Product Feedback - Apple
