Screen fault

Hi, since the last update, my Iphone XR screen has had a mind of its own, sometimes it just goes black (the phone is still on and responding to texts calls, as they come through on my watch) but there is nothing on the screen, today the top bar (Signal and battery) has just repeated it self all down the phone screen and is flashing. I took this into a phone shop and they said its a software malfunction. (baring in mind my phone is SOO slow atm!) Has anyone had this issue before? i have tried restarting it and nothing happens.

Hello,

When it happens, start here:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (could be as long as 30 seconds)

The timing is a little critical, you may have to try it several times. See this for more detail:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

You could try a factory reset: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

If no help, it probably needs a full evaluation at an authorized service location:

Find Locations

Good luck.
