Prograde Gold 512GB CF Exp B card Cannot be Read by MacBook Pro M1

Good afternoon.

I received my new Prograde Gold 512GB CF Express B card a few days ago. I formatted it on Canon R5 and took some photos this morning. Everything was OK up to this point.

Unfortunately, I was not able to download the images from this new Prograde Gold CF Exp B card onto my MacBook Pro M1. The MacBook simply cannot read/recognise the Prograde Card.

The Card Reader I used is the SandDisk Card Reader, which I have been using to upload photo images from SandDisk CF Exp B 128GB card to my MacBook Pro M1 without problem.

Has anyone of you had similar problem? How did you fix it?

Any suggestion would be very much appreciated.

Regards,

Jimmy

Try reformatting the CF card on the Mac using Disk Utility. If the card is using the exFAT file system, then it may be using a file allocation size which is incompatible with macOS. Of course, after reformatting the CF card on the Mac it is possible the camera may not like the file allocation size used, but worth a try anyway.

Before erasing the CF card, make sure to check which type of partition is being used by the card so that you use the same partition type when using Disk Utility to erase the card.
