I work for delivery services & when I’m close it automatically goes to walking even though I have everything set to driving. I’m busy driving & looking for my location, IT’S NOT SAFE TO TRY TO TAP THE BUTTON & CHANGE IT BACK TO DRIVING directions WHILE I’M DRIVING! Please fix this & make it stay on driving or make it possible to remove or to block the walking option entirely!

I have set my default method to Driving in Settings/Maps/Preferred type of travel and it always comes up Driving whenever I enter a destination.
This is not helping I'm afraid. I have same issue.
Are you saying you can’t switch to Driving?
And have you set your default method to Driving in Settings/Maps/Preferred type of travel?
I can switch to driving. Yes it's set as default but somehow walking mode is pushing itself if next location is close. Very annoying for a courier :)
