Emojis beside name

Hi,

I have a silly question. Does apple keep updating contacts in iPhone and remove emojis from contact names?

Me and my husband have faced this multiple times now. I have questioned him why he keeps removing the heart emoji from my name and he says he has no clue and puts it back only for it to be removed again 😄 Is this iPhones auto update or should I stop asking him further? 🌷
