Troubleshooting gMail App:

A. Reinstall the App:

What happens when you remove, and then reinstall the app? Doe it come back?

B. New App Password:

Note that you would need a new App Password, being that Mail app is a third-party app. You cannot log in using your eMail address password. As an example, go here for gmail: Sign in Using App Passwords - Gmail Help - Google Support

C. Contacting Google for Assistance:

Troubleshooting gmail App Reinstall:

Try Safe Mode:

Boot Up in Safe Mode, and see if you get this while logging in as the same user.  Go here: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support. In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset.
