My Airpods have different Firmware versions

After charge, When I open the lid the status light on the front of the case flashes orange. Right airpod cannot hear anything while the left working fine.

I've tried to connect the right airpod to my phone (appeared as different airpods). The right airpod still silence. I found that my airpods have different firmware version, Left = 5E133 while Right = 4E71

Please help

Thanks

Hello HoangYen91,

Based on what you're describing, we'd recommend that you reset your AirPods to ensure they pair and are updated properly. Firstly, follow the steps listed at How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support to unpair them. Make sure your iPhone is fully updated before pairing the AirPods back, as that includes the AirPods firmware.

I had the same problem. I tried many different solutions for a couple of days until I finally FIXED IT!

  1. reset both airpods, leave them and my iphone side-by-side charging overnight -- didn't work
  2. forget both airpods from my iphone, leave them charged side-by-side overnight again -- didn't work
  3. removed the airpods (even the dead one) from Find My iPhone, tried steps 1 & 2 again -- didn't work
  4. pair the airpods, plug to a mac overnight -- didn't work
  5. repeat no. 2 and 3 but plugged to a mac overnight -- didn't work

what finally fixed it is making sure both airpods have the same name! after renaming both to the same default name "[your name]'s Airpods", I got the normal white light from the case instantly.

try the rename / matching name trick, and hope this works for you as well.
