Weather app radar broken

The Weather app radar has been glitchy for months, and it seems like they don’t care. You can find tons of results regarding it when searched, the only fox Apple suggests is deleting and reinstalling and I didn’t change a thing. From what I see the posts started showing up in January. Are they ever going to address it? The radar layers are so glitched it’s pointless using.

I have the same issue, and yes obviously I can tell when the load bar is finished hahaha no, this still happens even if you leave the app & screen open for a good 10 minutes while connected to Wi-Fi. So no, it’s not the loading time, it’s the same glitch hundreds of other users have described over the past few months. I highly doubt this many people are just having loading issues lol. It’d be nice if they fixed it, because I’ve used Apple my entire life I have zero intentions of switching. I really don’t even like 3rd party apps, & I’m always talking up Apple stuff, and this is just a blatant issue and now the one thing that Galaxy users have over the iPhone. A working weather app haha you’d think that’d be an easy fix…

Hello MopedMike!

Weather Radar works fine on my device, once it finishes loading, that is.

To express your concerns to Apple, and to remind them of this glitch, please leave Product Feedback - Apple, at the link provided.

In addition, you can Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support, and see if there are any new fixes for this issue.

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

Hello Dk1407!

Thank you for your input! If what you say is true, that “it’s the same glitch hundreds of other users have described over the past few months,” then yes, it is possibly an issue on Apple’s end. So, I suggest you leave feedback at the link I provided above, and also, you can contact Apple Support if you so wish to do so.

Good Luck!

Middle of May 2023, still the same issues with radar. On my 11 Pro (always updated) it has never worked properly from the time Dark Sky went dark, when we were all forced to switch and intially optimistic at the stated inclusion of “Dark Sky tech”. Even when zoomed out as far as it goes there is no globe to spin and explore and no prompt interaction and loading, nor a longer term of radar prediction. It looks a 60s classroom Mercator wall map, a static projection. Nothing about this aspect of the app works with the flawless speed, reliability and elegance of Dark Sky.

Rest of the app, ok it’s comprehensive but cluttered and clunky… in the attempt to offer everything, it has none of the clean clarity of Dark Sky, which to me seemed far more Apple-like than Apple’s attempt.

Even if an expert/deeper mode than Dark Sky offered were desirable, having something with that clarity and elegance as the top layer would have been nice.

Thought it might be my 5Mbps hotspot only internet service (throttled Visible hotspot, rural area, limited choices), although again it didn’t affect Dark Sky’s performance significantly. However March this year, acquired broadband service and it had zero effect on Apple Weather’s radar behavior.

it’s just sad that Apple isn’t assertively proactive with this issue.
