and which iPhone model,

and which iOS version is installed on the iPhone,

and what happens when you try to connect the AirPods to the iPhone.

We do not know what methods have been suggested and tried.

(Apple's method generally works, if carefully followed.)

Eg: You may need to update to the latest iOS that your iPhone can run: About iOS 16 Updates - Apple Support says: iOS 16.4.1 is the latest.

iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are compatible with these devices - Apple Support

With the latest update on the phone, the firmware on the AirPods will automatically update also, when paired.

The iPhone may need to be restarted, if it is not working right:

in "discovery" mode (ie: flashing white).
